Dr. Wei Lv
(Current) Hardware Design Engineer at Apple ::: (Former) Ph.D. StudentBiography
Wei received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2010 and completed his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State University with professor Patrick Phelan. For his masters research he studied the spectral radiative properties of multifunctional nanostructures and volumetric heating in the context of boiling. He is interested in using multifaceted computational approaches and experimental techniques to understand thermal, optical and electric properties of novel materials. He joined the ASE group at Georgia Tech in 2012, and invented/developed the Green-Kubo Modal Analysis (GKMA) method. While in the ASE group, his work focused on molecular dynamics and lattice dynamics calculations to understand amorphous materials. Wei finished his Ph.D. in 2016, and is now a Hardware Design Engineer at Apple.
